Historic Woodland Farm
This year’s Farm Tour will feature one of Oldham County’s National Register of Historic Places, Woodland Farm.
Visitors will learn about the history of the farm, including Eighteen Mile Island, and its current sustainable food production practices. The tour features plenty of learning opportunities, including one of the Kentucky Mesonet climate monitoring stations, free-range livestock areas, gardens, and the production and use of biofuel.
Lunch will feature a presentation by Sarah Fritschner, who leads the efforts to promote the Louisville Region’s local food economy. Sarah will discuss how local food initiatives are making progress by leaps and bounds and how Woodland Farm plays a role in the local food system.
